A wholly Australian initiated and owned company; SmartBar was established in 1996 when parent company, Team Poly, had a fleet of 39 water tank delivery trucks across Australia that were constantly being damaged by animal strikes.

With the introduction of the SmartBar, truck immobilisation from animal strikes became a thing of the past and vehicle repair costs were significantly reduced for the company. And so began a revolution in Vehicle Frontal Protection Systems (VFPS) production.

Under the Hills Holdings banner, SmartBar continues to design and develop innovative products in response to a growing market need for more effective VFPS.
